Onitod – 04152000_98 [ Album: Analog Circuits ]

This track is unamed, it features a Korg Poly800, Roland TR-909, Juno-6, and Juno 106, MKS-30, EMU Morpheus, Ultra Proteus, and Audity 2000.

The Album is called Analog Circuits, as the music contained is all very analog and very vintage in nature.

This is part of the original recordings that were on Tascam DA-88s. The TR-909 was on a master, that was mis-produced, so this is the content that was salvaged from the DA-88 master.

The cosmic etheral sounds, remind me of the analog circuits of old, that were put together, back before quality control, and they were often different from each other. We live in a day that is far from the technical difficulties that I faced in 2000. When computers were barely fast enough to run a few tracks of audio in real time.

Today our technology is so fast and quick, I can record 100+ tracks and it barely flips the meter on the thunderbolt interface. Back then I had megabytes of space, today we look at terrabytes. I remember when I could only hope to have all the equipment that I needed to store and access all the music I wrote. That possibility came in 2007, and today, its is my smallest pile of data.

Analog Circuits is a step back in time to think about when things used to be so hard and difficult. Part of the difficulty culminated in patience and persistence. It was evolution in a way. Only  those who persisted would be able to get by in a world that was so unpredictable, and chaotic.

In the days of digital, things have become so much easier, but at the same time, we have lost our way in the pursuit of the nature of those things which allowed us to grow that patience, and persistence. In a world filled with right now, and the “latest”, we have no end for discovering character in cold digital world.

In truth the character of the analog circuits, especially in the musical world, was that often the design had unpredictable effects. The Massive Passive EQ, that was made by Manley, was better left unset. As just passing sound through the unit, without adjusting it, had a pleasurable sound. Many of the analog consoles, such as the Soundcraft, or SSL, or Midas, the sounds between the channels interacted on the voltage of the bus, which allowed the sounds to be combined in a way which was not possible with digital. What used to be seen as a bad design, crosstalk, was now in the digital age a sought after feature.

In our pursuit to go to better, and better, and better, within our lives, and within our selves. We often face a dilemma, of wondering if we made the right choice, or how was it then, or is it better now.  Truly when applied to ourselves, the answer is quite simple. A practice of regular self-reflection and attaining a greater awareness of oneself, is always a place to start. In this way, you can be more sure to not pass by moments, that you were too distracted in, to realize what was going on in front of your eyes. Be well my friend, and take care.

I have put together some preview tracks. I am about to publish 16 albums, from content that was created between 1997-2014. For the next batch of music tracks, they will feature PREVIEW on the splash screen, and so that means that this track, is one song of an album-in-progress. The track may or may not be in its final mastered form. During this preview promotion, you will get to hear a good many different styles that I produced over the years, and will get a feeling for what is coming down the pipe. All the songs are copyrighted their original content year, and the albums will be formally published in 2015. Once published I will update links on the videos to the iTunes and Amazon, and other places that they music will be available. If you would like to use the music for commercial purposes, you can contact me, and we can talk about your needs and find something that works.

Onitod – 07171998b_89 [ Album: Cross Reference ]

This track was unnamed, it is a song that was written in 1998. It is a slow-paced and easy going song, which is meant to slow down, and carry your mind away from that which distracts you, to a place of peace and contemplation.

Recorded on Tascam DA-88s, through a SoundCraft LX7, it was eventually mastered on Logic Pro years later. The Ibanez guitar is run through a Zoom 9150 tube guitar effects processor. There are sounds from a Roland TR-909, JV-880, JV-1080, EMU Ultra Proteus, Kawai K11, and other wonderful synths.

The album title comes from the place of contemplating the Cross. Many times in life we live in a place of relativity. That is we think from where we are at the moment. Since every one is at a different place, we all think from different spaces. In the days before Jesus Christ, this was a huge problem, in fact that is the reason that Abraham was chosen by God. In the days of Abraham, every man did as he pleased, and as a result, there was chaos and disorder.

In this rampant disorder there was no justice, nor could there be an penalty or accountability. Where there is no reference, there is no way to hold to any kind of justice, or begin to evaluate one conclusion over another. There must be a point of reference for there to be order, justice, and a sense of direction. If there is none established, than everyone is blind .

God called out Abraham, as one who tried to do what was right, who tried to do what he believed in his heart was the right thing to do. This pleased God, because God had given him his heart, and that he followed it, was pleasing to God.

In this day and age, and over time, we are much like those who lived in the days of Abraham. There is a great deal of corruption and injustice all over the world, and through this there is a lack of reference.

To be sane, and find a center of peace in this world, we must have a reference of certainty and security, so that we may attain to self-control, and restraint, to grow and mature.

Therefore it is necessary to define in our lives a point, that does not change. This is why God says through the Bible, over and over, that He does not change. It is to give us security and certainty. That if we pursue His ways, that HE will take care of us, and those promises are as true today, as they have ever been.

If you find that your life, is lacking in security, and things are always in random chaos, and you are not in your heart liking where you are, and you wish it was better, that things could be better, and you earnestly in your heart yearn for a better way to live, then God is speaking to you right now, to come and make the Cross a reference point in your life, in fact to make the Cross, the single point of reference in your life. Seek out Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and begin on a journey, a process where you will be lead to your hearts desire, and believe me, you will find a joy and happiness that you would have never realized possible before. Allow God to work in your life, as you take shelter in His protection, and find your life transformed, in as many ways as you can imagine, even beyond what you thought possible. Be well, and take care my friend.

Onitod – 09282014_107 [ Album: Every Knee Shall Bow ]

Every Knee Shall Bow, is a track that has a chill and cool jazz feel. The song is composed of bass, classical guitar, hollow-body guitar, featuring vox amps, and Ibanez guitars and basses. The track was not named at the time of posting, and keeps its original name, meaning that it was recorded on Sept 28, 2014.

The track is enriched with a live lead from a Roland SH-101, that heard near 2:45, of the playing time.

The album title is written from the point of the believers, that everything is calm and cool, because what God said has then come to pass. Seeing that this was as expected, there is a calm sense of peace and security, because the certainty of the Lord is being fulfilled before their eyes.

The track is designed for meditation and relaxation, upon, where it is beneficial to think about the hope that is far ahead, rather than what is going on right now. The calm believer, is aware of this, and steadies themselves for the rocky road, that leads to the day of peace.

It is this concept, that the believer does not recognize that they are exempt from danger, but that they will be protected, or guided through it. The idea of being prepared for an adverse situation is not so common in this day and age. Though in some corporate or government ways this policy might vaguely exist, this concept is relatively foreign when it is concerned with an individuals scope.

It might seem foreign to look for protection in a time of distress, which is what leads many people to panic, worry and fear, and it is those emotions which turn into actions, that cause much of the turmoil and distress in life to begin with.

Learning the possibility of options and outcomes coupled with enough self-control to seek some wisdom and guidance, is a step to a doorway of peace and a fulfillment of needs being met. The ability to restrain the actions, based on underlying motives, where one is aware enough to distinguish whether one is acting in peace, or worry, or anxiety, from a place of panic, or of sound mind, is a major difference in the outcomes of life that you can expect, since they are often fueled by this simple point of view.

A simplicity of change in the most critical moments of a stressful situation, can bring an enormous amount of peace and comfort, no matter the amount of adversity that one may face. This concept is highly regarded as the ability to change perspective, or to change one’s hope about what is actually possible and even achievable. Be well, and take care my friend.

Onitod – These Paths Are Holy [ Album: Only With God ]

These Paths Are Holy, is a classic EDM ( Electronic Dance Music ) selection, that is full of beautiful vintage and analog sounds, that paint a picture in your ears.

This track focuses more on analog modular synths. The sounds come to form an ethereal atmosphere which is enhanced by the eccentric use of sounds.  The variety of tones, and overtones, creates a complex mood, which is shifted by time and space.

The mysteriousness of God, is an illusion. As God’s most greatest desire is to save, and know all of mankind. Yet as we are given free-will, a value is created on the distance placed between our choices, and the holy place that the Lord stands. The choice to desire to become self-controlled, gentle, peaceful, kind, noble, and loving, is a course that sets you on a holy path itself.

When your desire is to seek the Lord, and to know Him, you find that the paths that seemed once unattainable, are filled with grace and love, to help you walk them. In fact, you even get help, and encouragement to walk more closely with God, by other believers, and also by God Himself.

To choose to go down this path, or continue, is a desire which must be enabled with intention. For without intention to commit to the desire, the desire is soon lost. Many times we say we will do something, and then loose commitment, for we had no intention to commit in the first place.

Therefore, we must first choose in our minds, and again in our hearts, to agree that this choice, the intention to commit to this desire, will in fact be what is good for us. For each of us individually. Some in their minds, not being able to come to a place of understanding, have not ever been able to achieve that level of understanding, and therefore, have not been able to see the benefits of this choice or decision.

Friend, I encourage you, that if it is in your heart to walk with God, and to know Him face to face, to know and hear from Him intimately, then I am saying to you, that it is not only possible, but a reality. If you would be willing to make changes in yourself, to fill and correct any gaps that you might have in your understanding, then you will be able to freely come to God, in a way in which you would find it hard to believe now.

Friend, I can tell you, that to walk with God is mainly a change to a perception in your mind, for you have already been walking with God, even for a long time, and yet you have not been able to identify that as God. You have been lead, and even directed, but you have not know by whom it is sourced. Friend, if you have been looking for God, I ask you to now, just accept that you have indeed found God. Accept in your heart, that you receive this, and you shall come to know a great deal more of who God is.

May you never see God as unreachable in this day and age, but see God as accessible, as a direct resource, and connection, that you are able to harness from, and bind with, to become much greater, than you could possibly become alone. Be well, and take care my friend.

Onitod – Never Disappointed In You [ Album: The Whole And The Part ]

Never Disappointed In You, is a song that I wrote, about how I wanted to look at relationships in the future. This track is a dnb Drum and Bass track, that was one of my first dnb tracks that I wrote, where I was very pleased with the results of it.

The album, is filled with high-energy songs, that have continuous momentum. The song was a journey and search in itself as I progressed to finding the sound I was looking for. My final piece was to learn of a loop masters drum programming pack that was released, by someone who I enjoyed all that they did.

Through Ableton live, I was also invited to learn a free Ableton pack, that was helpful in getting this song produced. Through a culmination of occurrences I was led and guided to find all the pieces that I needed to compose, arrange, and then finally finish this song. As I was able to complete this song, the whole album literally fell in my lap, as I composed one song after the next, with the needed pieces. I only came into a place where I learned to better produce music, as I sought to do so on an ongoing basis.

Dear reader, you should know, that if you put your mind to something, be it good or bad, the possibility of that which your mind is attentive to, becomes a greater possibility, and thus a reality.

The times that you feel you are being led, into one direction or another in life, those times, are simply to let you know, that when things fall in place, you are following a plan. Now some things, they look like they are not going to work out, and you get all upset, and I understand that, as it was many months, and many years between some of my many successes. One time was between 2009 and 2012, between when I wanted to write this style of music, and when it all made sense to me, that it even became natural to write it.

Friend, do not give up, on yourself, or others. I learned an important lesson along the way, hence the title of this track, and that was to decide, that’s right decide. Decide to not give up on people, but to see them through. To not give up on myself, but to see myself through.

Friend, let me tell you, my Father, he was one who gave up on me in a split second. If I didn’t behave, or do exactly as he perceived in his mind, I was a lost cause and capable of nothing. I remember back in 1994, I was standing on his driveway, as I was about to leave, and he said “You are never going to amount to anything, you are not capable of following through on doing anything.”

Friend, those might be hurtful words, and they were, they brought me a lot of pain and grief, but what I had to do, was see past my Father’s limitations of his misunderstandings. He did not realize that I need to have several things in place, before I am able to focus and grow. In fact, I have to live in a space for about 1-2 years before I even start to accomplish anything at all. It takes me 2 years to adjust to my new environment. Now keep in my friend, that it took me about 10-15 years to figure that out.

When my Father said those words to me, that was at a time, when I moved 19 places in 19 years, and I moved in one case, 3 times in a single year. I did not need to justify myself to my Father, but he was not the kindest or gentlest person alive. You may have faced parents who were cruel to you, or who did not treat you with respect, or give you a chance to fail with grace.

I’m sorry if that has happened to you, but you can move on. You can heal, and you can grow past those things, that had happened to you. In the end we are responsible not for what others have done to us, but what we do to others. I’m sorry if you went through hardships, we all make our choices on how we are going to live going forward. I know how my Father got to where he is, he made a choice to me mean, and not forgive when he was younger, and he held grudges and resentments inside his heart. He put all the responsibility of his actions on those he blamed for his pain, and as he got older, he cared less about who he blamed.

As he got older, if he needed someone to blame, I was just as good as anyone else. His need to blame was so great, that love went out the window. For a long time you can cover that up, and make excuses, but the people around you will figure it out, and one day, they will figure out, that how you treated them, was how you treated everyone else, horribly.

Friend, right now, I would like you to make a choice, about the future of your life. How do you want to be? Do you want to be responsible for how you treat others, and live in the planes of happiness and joy, or do you want to keep running, making excuses, and keep blaming others for a weakness that you have not dealt with.

Friend, do not be discouraged by your weakness, have hope that you can be encouraged. I saw a quote in the movie Kingsman, which was from Hemingway, which said this “It is not noble to be superior to others. Nobleness is being superior to your former self.” I would take that to heart, the real enemy is yourself. What ever you choose to hold onto that is what becomes of you. My Father chose to cling to the most negative things in his life, and so he had a very difficult and faced a lot of struggles in his life. When he chose to find help, he only looked for people that agreed with him, who supported his excuses, but that did him no good.

When you look to change from within, cling to that which is noble, which is good, which is worthy, with is worth your pursuit in life. Do not return to others, what has been handed to you, but return more than what you had, and in better condition, and in better shape. If you were given poor knowledge, share great wisdom in its place.

You are, who you aim to become. Though take time to self-reflect, so that you have a chance to make sure you are being true to yourself, and true to your nature. The worst deception, is to be divided in your mind and heart, and not even know who you really are. Be well, and take care my friend.

Onitod – Rebuilding Hope [ Album: Substitution ]

Rebuilding Hope, is an uplifting Drum and Bass (DnB) styled track, that is all about hope.  The track is slow-paced at first, and then ramps up to the DnB familiar style. It is meant to rise up your spirit as you listen to the track.

The name, comes from a time in my life, where my hope was in fact, not very existent, and I was sad, and slightly depressed, I felt about the experiences in life I had gone through, and then decided to take all of that pain, and sadness and put it into a song about hope, to life my own spirit up. The result, is that when I listen to this song, my hope jumps high in my soul, and I have revived, and taken to a beautiful place, where my thoughts are traded from defeat to victory. Where my mind is focused from depression to hope, abundance, and gratefulness.

May you be filled with peace and hope, and take a step back in your life, as you listen to this track, and become relaxed by its tones of gladness, praise, hope, well-being, and luscious spirit of victory.

When you feel defeated in life, and you need your hope to be rebuilt, then I offer you hope, that your hope can be rebuilt. If you take a moment to relook at your life, and believe that you can be restored and rectified, then you will find the hope, and the way, the path, that will lead to restoration.

I have put together some preview tracks. I am about to publish 16 albums, from content that was created between 1997-2014. For the next batch of music tracks, they will feature PREVIEW on the splash screen, and so that means that this track, is one song of an album-in-progress. Onitod – Seek My Face [ Album: Follow After Me ]

Seek My Face, is an ethereal track, that is based on the music principle of a single note, forming a chord, and going back to a single note.

I had done a lot with drum programming, and needed a change of pace, and so I decided to write an album, with no drum tracks. The songs have tempos, and the arpeggios are synced to the tempo, but there is no percussion.

The entire album is setup so that it can be listened to continuously without interruption, that tracks flow from one to the next, so that deep meditation, and extreme relaxation is possible, and to get lost in the moment is key.

The title comes from seeking after Jesus Christ, the son of God. The one true son, of the one true God. Seek My Face, is a call to action, and a reminder to seek the face of Jesus, to seek communion with Him, which is available to everyone who believes, through the Holy Spirit. It is a free gift of communion. The one true God, is the only God, who seeks communion with His people. No other religion, except that based on the Bible, tells of a way to commune with God directly, in a personal and intimate relationship. Seek My Face, is to draw your attention, to the face, an intimate personal place, that is special. It is a way to convey a deep spiritual connection, to the one true Living God.

My hope, is that you seek to pursue, and answer the call of the one true God, who is calling to you. Seek His Face, as you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and as you further accept the Holy Spirit to dwell within you, you will live a new life, one that you only could have imagined before. Be well my friend, and take care.

Onitod – Good Character [ Album: Eulogy ]

Good Character, is a combination of multiple attributes that a person can attain, if one is willing to persevere.

This track, came from a journey or perseverance, as the tracks that I was writing months before did not come together as I had wished. Then in a spurt of 3 weeks, some of the best music I had written at the time suddenly emerged.

We are called to be in a state of readiness. Ready in season, and out of season. It does not mean to be working all the time, or obsessed with one thing or another, but it does mean to be willing to take action, and be ready to apply the knowledge you have already attained.

There are generally two calls in life about application. One is that you have to learn it on the fly, in the moment of things, and the other is that you learn it one day at a time, and later on it life you apply what you have gradually learned.

The applying at the time of learning, can often be filled with stress, and lead to corruption of character, where by our willingness to stay in good means, suddenly eludes us as we spiral into a panic of stress and disorder. Therefore, it is much better to be in a place, where you do not worry yourself with not being able to use the information and knowledge that you have attained. Instead wait for the day, and behold it will come, as you press on, that you will get to use all that you have worked hard and diligently to acquire.

The one who approaches life, in a more reasonably calm manner, is one who is headed to keep in good character, when trouble, strife, crisis or disorder appear. In those times, the one who has pursued good character will be able to take wise advise and apply it, listen to it, adhere to it, and realize and know it is wise counsel.

This video is a June bug, that was on my doorstep one night, and I took a video, because the june bug knows if it keeps trying, it will eventually flip itself over. The amount of preseverance that this tiny bug has, to me, is quite amazing. I think in life, that is a good lesson to learn, that even when things look upside down, if you keep at it, things eventually turn up, and eventually if you keep trying, you can get back on your feet.

Onitod – Passing You By [ Album: The Future of Music ]

Passing you by, is a song that is in kind order. It is about a friendly passing as you see someone on the way to the market, or as you see them on the street. This song is a friendly pondering, and delight of enjoyment in seeing a friend of familiar face or remembering a sweet soul, as you walk to work, class, lunch, or where ever you may be off to go.

The Future of Music was an album that I put together, in which I first learned how to save compositions, by bending the rules, and making slight modifications to the arrangements, I was able to make the songs better, and more enjoyable to listen to.

In life, sometimes we get thinking, its all or nothing, it either works or it doesn’t, sometimes the difference between working and not working, is very small, most of these songs took 1-2 extra days of work, to get them from failed compositions, to enjoyable compositions.

Sometimes a little extra work, can go a long way, and that’s half the discovery and adventure to find out, which ones need just a little bit more work, and which ones need to go back to square one.
